I added this module to an article using the loadposition feature and I created a menu option for the article. This allows me to have a page on my website that is just for this upload module.

I go to this page and upload a file. Then click on any other page on the site. Then I use my browser Back button. I get the following message in Firefox: "To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier.". It then appears to re-upload the file.

In summary, it appears that using the browser back button causes the file to get re-uploaded.

Hi,
unfortunately that is the way a web-browser behaves...
The call it makes to upload the file is also stored in History, when you hit "back" it re-sends whatever is in history.
I don't think there is a way around it... Maybe someone knows and can tell me?

the response of the upload (so after it has been stored) needs to send a http-redirect(302 or similar) to some harmless status-page: this way the browsers history stores the page it was redirected to (instead of the one it uploaded the file to), and no re-upload is done when hitting the back-button.

greetings, rob.

Thanks Rob!
I already tried something like that but unfortunately redirecting to the same page (don't want to leave Joomla) didn't do the trick... Maybe if the module was in an iFrame...?!?!

Thank you. Useful, very nice!

One thing, if you change the folder for images store in the module, you get the following message:

Warning: move_uploaded_f ile(./images/demetrio/polos.jpg) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/ty407/public_html/joomla/modules/mod_simplefileu ploadv1.0/helper.php on line 73

Hi,
you need to make sure the directory exists. SFU will not create the directory for you...

Hope that helps!

hey Anders
got a problem with your module. I get in the backend after having uploaded the Simple File Upload v1.0 an error message on the right side above the default location. It says:

"Notice: Undefined variable: text in D:\Daten\Inetpu b\WWW\lvi\modul es\mod_simplefi leuploadv1.0\elements\sett ings.php on line 123"

can you help me with that?

Hi,
that is a PHP Notice only and can be ignored. Change your Joomla or PHP logging settings to get rid of it. Use Contact form if you want further assistance with that, ok?

I really had big troubles - the uploaded file didn't appear! Then I realized to change permissions. Is 770 correct?

Hi,
I think 550 should do it, depends a bit it seems, some have 550, others must have 777...
Just test it out and see... ok?

Hi, i'd like to know how can i set a personal directory for each user, it seems like every user must put files in the same directoy, this would make difficult to find files coming from a specific user and also can be very messy for my project.. Is there any solution? THANKS A LOT!!

Hi,
in version 1.2 that is possible (user defined directories). It is currently under development but you can grab it and let me know of anything not working and I'll try to fix it...
